There
are two 6x9’s behind the rear seat. To get to them you need to pull up firmly
on the bottom of the seat. The hooks are right between your legs as if you were
sitting in the seat on each side. Once you pull them up you have to remove the
bolts from the back portion of the seat and the seatbelts. Once that is removed
you will see the 6x9’s
Remove the 6x9’s and solder RCA cables or speaker wire to
the terminals. This depends on your amp. You either need an amp with a high
level input or you have to buy a high level output converter. It must also have
a DC turn on feature. This avoids the need of a remote turn on wire.
Now you have to run the ground wire. I placed the ground
above the 6x9’s were the other grounds were. Once you screw it in you can run
the ground and the RCA inputs to the trunk. There is plenty of gaps.
Now you need to run the power wire. If you are looking at
your engine there is a cover between the battery and the windshield .
Underneath it there is a large grommet that drops down right behind the glove
box. Poke a hole in it with something round and sharp(Don’t slice it because it won’t seal back up once
you run the power wire). Now stretch out a metal clothes hanger and tape the
power wire on the end. Push the side without the power wire through the hole
you made and once you find it underneath the glove box you can pull the wire
though.
Hide the power wire underneath the floor trim and run it
though the trunk where you ran the ground.
The only way to fit a sub is to build a box where the spare
tire goes. You can do this however you want but it is tricky to find a shallow
mount sub that has a shallow enough mounting depth to fit. You have a total of
5 3/8”. Here are the pictures of how I built it. Originally I was going to put
an 8” in simply because I have never heard one and decided to give it a try. I
was disappointed so I stuck with what I normally get and got a 12”. That is why
the mounting hole is smaller at first.
